At Coastal Psychology Centre, we offer assessments and therapy to clients of all ages. Our psychologists are passionate about treating each individual, with consideration to their unique needs, goals and circumstances.
We have a special interest in working with the following concerns:
Stress, Anxiety & Panic
Stress and anxiety can make everyday life feel overwhelming, leaving you worried, on edge, or unable to switch off. At times, anxiety can also bring frightening physical sensations or panic attacks that can start to limit the things you feel comfortable doing. We can help you understand what’s happening, develop practical ways to manage anxiety, and feel calmer, more confident and more like yourself again.
Depression
Depression can leave you feeling low, disconnected, exhausted or unlike yourself, and can make even the simplest parts of everyday life feel difficult. We can help you understand what may be contributing to how you’re feeling, reconnect with the things that matter to you, and develop practical strategies to improve your mood, motivation and overall wellbeing.
Relationships
Relationships can be a source of connection and support, but they can also bring challenges, conflict and uncertainty. We can help you better understand relationship patterns, strengthen communication, navigate boundaries and work through difficulties in your relationships with partners, family, friends or others in your life.
Body Image Concerns & Eating Disorders
Difficulties with food, eating or body image can take up a lot of mental and emotional space, affecting how you feel about yourself and your everyday life. We provide compassionate, non-judgemental support to help you build a healthier relationship with food and your body, and work towards meaningful and lasting recovery. Our Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, Prudence Perrin, provides evidence-based support to help clients tackle eating disorder concerns, disordered eating and body image difficulties at any stage of their recovery.
Life Transitions
Life can bring significant changes, both expected and unexpected. Whether you’re navigating changes in relationships, family, work, health or a new stage of life, or coping with grief and loss, we can provide a supportive space to make sense of what you’re experiencing, adjust to change, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Trauma
Difficult or distressing experiences can continue to affect the way we think, feel and respond long after they have passed. We provide a safe, supportive space to understand the impact of trauma, develop ways to manage difficult emotions and reactions, and gradually work towards feeling safer, more connected and more in control.
How Can We
Support You?
Therapy
We offer flexible psychological support tailored to your individual needs, with both in-person and telehealth appointments available. You can attend privately or with an eligible referral or funding pathway.
In-Person Therapy
We offer face-to-face therapy sessions in a calm, private, and welcoming environment. In-person appointments provide a supportive space to talk openly, explore challenges, and work collaboratively toward meaningful change and improved wellbeing.
Telehealth Therapy
Telehealth appointments allow you to access professional psychological support from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Delivered via secure video, telehealth offers the same quality of care and is a convenient option for those with busy schedules, distance barriers, or a preference for remote sessions.
Assessments & Reports
Pre-surgical Assessments
We offer professional pre-surgical psychological assessments and reports. These assessments are completed with sensitivity and care, providing thoughtful evaluation and clear reporting to assist both clients and medical professionals in preparing for upcoming procedures.
Psychological Assessments
We offer comprehensive psychological assessments to help clarify diagnosis, better understand individual strengths and challenges, and guide appropriate treatment and support. Assessments are tailored to the individual and may include clinical interviews, validated assessment tools, and a detailed written report where required.
Referrals
We accept referrals from General Practitioners, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals. Clients are welcome to attend with a Medicare referral under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), or a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CCMP).
We accept referrals and funding through NDIS, WorkCover, and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
Private referrals are also welcome, and our team is happy to assist with any questions regarding referral pathways or eligibility.
